I am looking to buy a car from a private party sale. The car is 3,000 miles over the manufactures warranty. Is it still possible to purchase an extended warranty on the car?
Editor’s Comment:
Extended auto warranties, like many warranty products, are used by people who don’t want to get caught out by expensive repair bills just when they can least afford it. This planning can be a real life saver but you need to do your own research. Click here start your research with a free, no obligation auto warranty quote
Yes, you can. Google "extended warranty".
But is it really worth the $1500 or so price tag? I don’t think so. Most newer cars will go 100,000 miles without a major problem. Usually, major repairs such as engines & transmission occur after 100,000 miles… which is why most do not offer warranty beyond it.
I’d rather just save the money and keep it for a rainy day. The only reason to get the warranty is if you buy a crappy American car such Ford.
probably from a 3rd party, but not worth it AT ALL
Yes you can.But save your money, they are usually a rip-off.Read any warranty VERY CAREFULLY.
Yes. But, consider the worth of the extended warranty compared to the worth of the vehicle. Most of the time they aren’t worth it unless they cover certain parts of your car. Take the warranty to a mechanic and a car dealer and ask their opinions. Sometimes warranties won’t really cover the neccessary parts.
