I want to purchase an extended warranty for some repairs I need to make on my car. How long do I have to wait after purchasing the warranty to make the repairs so they will cover them instead of rejecting them for being pre-existing?

before they sell you a warranty the should check the condition of your car if not they are responsible of all repair its like a life insurance that you by today and you died tomorrow of a heart attack the have to pay ‘that A GOOD DEFENCE’
All of the plans have a waiting period of 60 days and 1000 miles. This means that you have to wait 60 days after purchase and after your put on an additional 1000 miles. Some of the better companies have 30 day and 1000 mile periods. If your vehicle makes it through this time frame and you don’t have any problems, then you are eligible for coverage. However, your post makes it seem that you have something seriously wrong with the vehicle. You do realize that the Engine Computers have logs in them. So if something is malfunctioning the mechanic can tell. This log is also is available to the warranty company, so they could reject your claim because it is in fact a preexisting condition. Extended warranties are great products, but you can not expect coverage if you are trying to get coverage on an already malfunctioning vehicle. That is not the intent of the product. the product is designed to provide coverage for vehicles that are purchased and in in good condition at the time of purchase, so that when something does happen you do not have to come out of pocket with large amounts of money for the repair.
