My 1998 Honda Civic had a transmission slip. Right now the shop has quoted me between k to .1k to get the tranny rebuilt. He says everything inside will be replaced, and to add to that, the auto tranny will come with a 3 year 36k warranty. The person I spoke with says he could have been mistaken and it could have been a 60k and not 36k.

Also, how will I know if the tranny will be rebuilt properly? I don’t want a half past 6 job, I want a quality rebuild where everything is replaced.

The k includes hauling and installation.

Thanks :)

Is this a good price for a transmission rebuild?

I’m not sure exactly if there is such a thing though.

Okay, So I just bought a 2010 Nissan Maxima from a used dealership. The vehicle has 29,500 miles already and was confronted with a bit of a warranty issue. The bumper to bumper is 3 yr 36000 miles (ends in 6,500 miles!) and the powertrain is 5 year 60,000 miles. I plan on having this car for years to come. Please what type of warranty and company should I have to prepare myself from paying unwanted and unnecessary charges!?
The dealership offered the extended warranty for 60 dollars a month on top of my payments for my car note.

I purchased a vehicle from a "supposedly reputable" car dealership (Serra Nissan in Birmingham, Alabama on Centerpoint Parkway). The vehicle was purchased on June 20 and less than a month later, the car needs over 00 in repair. After much hesitancy and not wanting to pay a service center for the diagnostic work performed on the car, the dealership has taken on the responsibility of covering the damages. When the dealership was under the impression that the warranty would cover the work that needed to be done to the car and the cost of the rental charges, they extended the offer of covering the rental cost if it wasn’t cover (this was when they were sure they wouldn’t have to)…Now that the coverage has been denied by the warranty (and even though they gave their word of paying for a rental), they no longer are willing to do so! The question I have is are they legally responsible to either provide or make provisions for a rental while the vehicle is being serviced?
@ Larry E… so the answer is "No, they are not legally responsible but they would be if I had it in writing"??
And also, I would like to clarify something in the above statement.. It is only my assumption that the dealership initially offered to pay for a rental or provide one when they thought that the warranty would provide it and that they wouldn’t have to; this was not DIRECTLY verbalized/stated by any representative of Serra Nissan…this was just my perception based on their actions and the things they said!
